I loved this book and read it several times as a child. It's just one of those "nice" books. Like Little Women or Anne of Green Gables, it's not exciting, and maybe it's not a "grown up" classic, but the characters and journey of the story are worth reading. I've read Ballet Shoes once or twice as an adult and it definitely holds up. Lara Spencer Laughs at boys in ballet #46 Posted: 8/26/19 at pm What puzzles me about this is the notion that male ballet dancers are somehow non-virile sissies.

When ballet prodigy Misty Copeland first placed her hands on the barre at a Boys & Girls Club, no one expected the undersized, anxious year-old to become a groundbreaking ballerina. Only the third African American soloist to dance with the prestigious American Ballet Theatre, Misty has documented her journey in her new book, Life in Motion. The acting is so brilliant. Emma Watson really breaks out of the Hermione role and is magnificent in Ballet Shoes as Pauline Fossy, really wonderful. Lucy Boynton, who plays Posy Fossil the ballet prodigy is spot on with all her lines and delivers two really big laughs. Too funny.

Zoura O’Neill - Co-Artistic Director. Ms. Zoura began her training at Petaluma School of Ballet under the direction of Mary Paula, and also also danced with Redwood Empire Ballet and Marin Ballet, where she performed in The Nutcracker and as well as in many spring shows. She trained with Anita Kane and at San Francisco Ballet with Harold Christensen, one of the original founders, where she Location: Howard Street Petaluma, CA, United States.   PreS-Gr 2—Ballet Cat wants all of her friends to love ballet as much as she does. In this second book in the series, Butter Bear seems to be a willing participant. That is, until Ballet Cat asks Butter Bear to do some superhigh leaps. Then suddenly Butter Bear comes up with a lot of excuses not to do the leaps at all.5/5(1).
